


| Drug, HIV & AIDS Awareness Education Programme in rural areas of Nepal |

Aids Alliance Nepal (AAN) is committed and takes the leadership role to provide Drug, HIV & AIDS Awareness Education Programme to one hundred (100) women’s participation in thankot, Nari Jagaran Samuha (Women Awaking Group) by 2008. AAN conducted a two days Drug, HIV & AIDS Awareness Education Programme in rural area i.e.; thankot, of Nepal in 23rd – 24th May and 14th – 15th June 2008. Drug, HIV & AIDS Awareness Education Programme was divided in two parts: The Day first was related to drugs and its harm; this drug session was conducted by ex-drug user Mr. Deepak Chhettri from Youth Vision - Day Care Center. Similarly, Day second was related to way of HIV transmission and Basic knowledge on HIV & AIDS, this HIV & AIDS session was conducted by ex-drug users Mr. Rajesh Didiya and Bobby Singh from Youth Vision - Crisis Care Center. AAN is very glad full with Nari Jagaran Samuha (Women Awakening Group) to providing different 30/30 women’s participation in two days programme 23rd – 24th May and 14th – 15th June 2008 and the participations of the women include married, unmarried and school girls and AAN members. AAN will evaluate 3-5 women volunteers from the May-June 2008 programme and AAN believe that they will able to teach Drug, HIV & AIDS update information within their community and able to conduct a Drug, HIV & AIDS awareness education programme in 2009. thus, AAN take the leadership role to capacity building of 3-5 women volunteers by giving them a special training on Drug, HIV & AIDS and finally they will able to conduct a programme in 2009. |
